Body Portrait will be a non-narrative and multi-media animated short film. This short film is the continuation of the drawing that Lim did in 2016 and which explored self-reflection as a form of body parts. Each body part represents the artist’s personal interpretation of the connection of physicality and psychology. For instance, the ‘left leg’ part will be a collection of all the bedrooms that she’s lived in, from my childhood room in Busan, South Korea, to the tiny dorm in New York, and a one bedroom apartment in Columbus, OH. Overall, this film will reflect on how Lim’s various experiences shaped the relationships with body and mind with various art mediums such as 2D animation, drawing, paper, clay, and beads.
